1986 – Neal Broten (Minnesota North Stars) became the first U.S.-born player to score 100 points in a season.

1931 – Boston Bruins coach Art Ross became the first NHL coach to pull his goalie for an extra attacker. The Bruins lost to the Montreal Canadiens in Game 2 of the Stanley Cup Semifinals.

    Today, 15 years ago, was the “Brawl” in Hockeytown. I would think that should count as something that should be included under today’s “Today in NHL History.”

      Indeed, you are correct. As I source the info from one website and pull it into our blog, I do miss out on some items, as was the case with “the brawl”. Thank you for the catch!
