2002 – Saku Koivu returned to the Montreal Canadiens after a seven-month battle with cancer. The win against the New Jersey Devils clinched Montreal’s first postseason position since the 1997-98 season.

 

1987 – Wayne Gretzky passed Jean Beliveau as the all-time hockey playoff scoring leader.
